Our Growing Story...

Tony’s Garden Center is our family owned and operated nursery that we have worked on together for over 25 years in Portland, Oregon. The founders, Abe and Barbara, have a passion for offering fresh and healthy plants to their neighbors and customers. This desire has been consistent ever since the doors first opened in 1989.

While they worked to expand their business, Abe and Barbara were busy raising their four children as well.  As the children grew up in the nursery, they were taught how to care for their plants and how to help customers with picking the right plants for their projects. Today, both of Abe and Barbara's sons remain active in the business and now their own children are the ones growing and learning in the garden center.

In 2005, we were blessed with the opportunity to open our second Tony’s Garden Center location in Happy Valley, Oregon.  This location was traditionally where we grew the majority of our plants. However, today it also functions as our second retail location.

Seeing a need for more growing space, we began laying the ground work for which would become our third Tony's Garden Center location in Damascus, Oregon. During the Summer of 2014, we began building new growing houses at this location and we were able to open them to our customers in Spring 2015.
